From 2024 Art Journaling - Instructor Carmen Daugherty

This workshop is from 2024.

Keeping a sketchbook journal is such a relaxing, non-threatening and rewarding way to be creative!  You can document your learning; you can sketch your travels; you can work out ideas for larger projects; or you can just play! Join Carmen, and you will learn some fun techniques incorporating drawing and painting using various materials, like ink, watercolor, colored pencils, markers and more! She will also cover basic concepts of page design and strategies for adding lettering and journaling to your sketchbook pages.

If you have never Art-Journaled, come in the afternoons and Learn! Whether you use your journaling to remember Places, Things, or Ideas, Carmen’s class is for you.

Introductory journals will be provided, however, if you are already a Journaler, it’s highly encouraged that you bring one or two of your own favorite, high quality sketchbooks with you.

Carmen Daugherty is an avid watercolorist and urban sketcher. Since she retired from teaching elementary school students (first graders for 21 years!), she has been able to devote most of her time to her daily art practice. When she is not outside plein air sketching with friends, she is in her studio painting florals in watercolor or sketching in her sketchbook journal. She also enjoys walking, Pilates and traveling. Carmen lives in Seal Beach, California with her husband Jerry.
